Net Worth Calculator

Add up what you own, subtract what you owe, and see the single figure that results.

Understand the calculation

Calculation logic, formula, example and guardrails behind the estimate.

How it works

Everything you own is added up, everything you owe is subtracted, and what remains is your net worth. There is no modelling and no projection — it is a snapshot at the values you enter.

Cash and investments are reported separately from property, because the two behave very differently. A property cannot be sold in parts, so a position that looks comfortable in total can still be short of anything spendable.

More detail

The liabilities-to-assets ratio is shown alongside, since the same net worth can sit on very different amounts of borrowing.

Nothing is valued for you. The property figure in particular is your own estimate, and it is usually the largest and least certain number on the page.

To get the outstanding figure for your home loan rather than estimating it, use the loan balance calculator.

Formula

Net worth = Total assets − Total liabilities

A subtraction, not a model. Its usefulness comes from measuring the same way repeatedly rather than from the arithmetic.

Total assets
Cash, deposits, investments, property and other resale value.
Total liabilities
Outstanding balances on every loan, plus card dues carried.
Worked example

₹5,00,000 in deposits, ₹25,00,000 invested, a property estimated at ₹80,00,000, ₹3,00,000 of other assets, against a ₹44,00,000 home loan, ₹3,00,000 of other loans and ₹50,000 on cards.

  1. 01Total assets₹1,13,00,000
  2. 02Total liabilities₹47,50,000
  3. 03Net worth₹65,50,000
  4. 04Liabilities to assets42.04%
  5. 05Cash and investments share26.55%

A net worth of ₹65.5 lakh, of which the great majority sits in property — just over a quarter of the assets are cash or investments. Both facts matter, and the single figure alone shows neither.
